The Cergy-Pontoise agglomeration
A short distance from Paris, on the banks of the Oise and at the gateway to the Regional Nature park of the French Vexin , the community of Greater Cergy-Pontoise affords its inhabitants and its visitors the opportunity to discover or rediscover an astonishing variety of unsuspected heritage and cultural treasures.
From the Axe Majeur, a landscape sculpture by the artist Dani Karavan, to the town of Pontoise labelled Ville d’Art et d’Histoire, together with the loop of the Oise river and its villages perched on the slopes of of the wooded Hautil massif, our territory consists of rural and urban landscapes which are the basis of its identity and its orginality.
Each commune of the agglomeration possesses a part of this relatively little known heritage. Lovers of ancient or contemporary history; people who are culturally curious, hiking and open air activity enthusiasts, or indeed those keen on river cruises will all find matter to enrich their stays and visits in the Ile de France.
