The Château, with its listed gardens in the heart of a 9-hectare park, is an exceptional heritage site. Inside, it hosts an immersive exhibition on the famous painter Vincent Van Gogh, who spent his last days in the village of Auvers.

Given its success, the exhibition devoted to the last four years of Vincent Van Gogh's life has been extended until November 2, 2025.
Set up in the château, the tour takes you from room to room in the footsteps of the famous artist, through an original staging alternating digital projections, reconstructions of settings familiar to the painter and presentations of original works (paintings, engravings, etc.) by 19th-century artists who worked in the same places as him. Van Gogh's works - letters, drawings and paintings - are presented in excellent high-definition digital reproductions.

The exhibition retraces the major stages of Van Gogh's stay in France, from his Parisian years with his brother Theo to his escapades in the south, in Arles and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. A special focus is placed on his stay in Auvers-sur-Oise, where he painted some 75 pictures in less than 70 days.

Van Gogh the traveler changed addresses 36 times in 37 years, nourishing his art with encounters, diverse influences and the places where he lived. His style evolved extremely rapidly, from the dark compositions of his early paintings to canvases in which colors exploded.
